AGE :

PICTURE :

QUICK DESC. :
A small black tom with barely visible darker black markings and blue eyes.
APPEARANCE :
||Pelt||
Pantherpaw has a very dark black pelt. His pelt is glossy, but it does not take on a blue-ish hue; it is completely black. There are barely visible even darker black rings all over his body, similar to those rings that one would find on a bengal cat. Pantherpaw's fur is rather short, although the fur on his underbelly is slightly longer than the rest of his pelt. His pelt is always soft-looking and well-groomed because he is always working to keep his pelt looking its best.
||Eyes||
Pantherpaw's eyes are a bright, icy blue, like the sky during Leaf-Bare. These eyes look very much like shards of ice, if one looks close enough, and there are flecks of darker blue here and there. Pantherpaw's eyes always have a friendly gleam to them, and are very expressive. Pantherpaw's eyes aren't very unique; they are just simple and blue.
||Build||
Pantherpaw is a very small cat, even for his age. He looks more like a kit of three moons rather than an apprentice of six, which lead to part of his decision to be a Medicine Cat Apprentice. Pantherpaw has small paws and short legs. His body is long for his size, and he has an unusually thick, long tail that seems out of place on his body. He does not look like he has any muscle mass; his shoulders are narrow and he has thin limbs. Pantherpaw's face is round, and always has a friendly expression on it. His ears are large in comparison to his body, although the size of his ears balances out the size of his thick tail.
PERSONALITY :
||Friendly||
Pantherpaw is, in every way possible, a very friendly little cat. He is always cheerful, and tries to make everyone around him cheerful as well. Pantherpaw likes to try to make friends with any cat, especially cats who seem out of place or don't have very many friends. Pantherpaw is not a cat that is quick to judge someone; how a cat looks or first impressions are unimportant to Pantherpaw. Harsh or offensive words hardly, if never, pass his lips, and he tries his best not to offend other cats. That does not mean Pantherpaw is never offended, however; he is, in fact, a very sensitive cat.
||Sensitive||
Pantherpaw is very sensitive. It does not take much to hurt this cat's feelings, although when someone does offend him he tries not to show it to whoever is offending him. He likes to talk about his feelings, and isn't afraid to tell someone if something is bothering him. Pantherpaw is the right cat to come to if they have a problem or something they need to get off their chest; he will listen to a cat if they need someone to talk to and will not judge a cat for something they have done.
||Cowardly||
Pantherpaw is not the bravest cat. He is easily spooked, and is afraid to do something that is dangerous or something that he isn't supposed to do. Pantherpaw does not adjust well to change, and likes things to stay the same. Pantherpaw is a cat that will panic in stressful or tough situations, and shies away from doing something brave. The only way that this cat would step up to the plate is if one of his friends was in danger, or if someone was bullying another cat. Pantherpaw does not have a lot of confidence about himself, and usually thinks that he is doing something wrong or that he will never learn every herb that he needs to know.
HISTORY :
||Pre-Birth||
Pantherpaw's history begins even before he was born. His mother was Nightsoul, a beautiful black she-cat with sparkling amber eyes, who was a pure-blooded warrior of RiverClan. Pantherpaw's father, however, was a completely different story. His name was Panther, a handsom, pure white tom with green eyes. Panther was not a Clan cat; he was a rogue that frequently wandered onto RiverClan territory and stole prey. Nightsoul and Panther met one day while Panther was hunting a mouse. Nightsoul attacked him and chased him off of the territory, but Panther had been captivated by the beauty of this she-cat, and returned frequently looking for the black she-cat that had seized a hold of his heart. When the two met again Nightsoul did not attack him, and they quickly developed a strong relationship. The two fell in love, and met in secret for ten moons. No other cats ever found out. When Nightsoul discovered that she was pregnant she refused to reveal who the father of her son was. When her son was finally born, Nightsoul named him Pantherkit after his father.
||Kit-hood||
Growing up, Pantherkit never knew who his father was. Whenever he asked his mother, she would say that he had just been brave, handsom warrior who had died before Pantherkit had been born. Pantherkit was very close to his mother; they got along well, and Nightsoul accepted him for being so small even when other cats did not. Pantherkit found that he wanted to be the Medicine Cat's apprentice after he had paid a visit to the Medicine Cat when he had gotten a thorn stuck in his pad. Pantherkit found that he had a strong will to learn about herbs and how to heal other cats, and since he was not very confident that he could ever be an efficient warrior with his small size, being a cat that healed rather than fought appealed to him. He spent a lot of his time with the Medicine Cat, and when he returned back to the Nursery one day he found that Nightsoul was not there. He thought nothing of it, but night soon came and she had not returned. The Clan searched for her for days, but their searches were all in vain. Unknown to the other Clan cats, Nightsoul had gone to meet with Panther and discuss a possible meeting between Panther and his son. Their meeting turned out to be fatal, however, when Panther was swept away into the current while trying to cross the river to see Nightsoul. Nightsoul jumped in to help him, but they were both swept away in the current and never seen again. Pantherkit was devastated by the disapearance of his mother, and spiraled down into an unhappiness that no one thought he would ever come out of. One of the other Queens looked after him, although the care of his foster mother did nothing to fill the gap in Pantherkit's heart. He soon re-gained his happiness, however, when his apprentice-ship came and he was ready to take on the status of the Medicine Cat Apprentice.
||Apprentice-ship||
Pantherpaw does not have much of a history being an apprentice, for he has been the Medicine Cat Apprentice for less than a moon. So far, Pantherpaw has enjoyed being a Medicine Cat Apprentice, and has come out of his state of depression. Pantherpaw does, however, still miss his mother, and sometimes Pantherpaw goes out into the forest to search for his missing mother. Nightsoul appears frequently in his dreams, especially when Pantherpaw needs help or guidance or feels alone or afraid.
ROLEPLAY SAMPLE :
||Mother...Mother...Where have you gone?||
It was night-time. Flakes of snow fell softly from a dark sky above. The moon managed to peer from behind gaps in the clouds, making the snow on the ground and on the branches above Pantherpaw's head glitter like mystical specks of light containing secrets waiting to be uncovered. There was a thin dusting of snow on Pantherpaw's black pelt that had not yet melted away, and gave the small tom a ghostly appearance. He walked with his ears pricked and his blue eyes wide, his thick tail held out erectly behind him just above the deep layering of snow on the forest floor.
Pantherpaw paused every few steps with one paw held in the air, staring around with wide eyes then moving on again when he saw nothing. He usually came out here into the forest during the night, especially while the other cats were asleep and would not notice his absence. Pantherpaw would be embaressed if a cat asked him where he was going, and he responded by saying that he was searching for his mother. Pantherpaw knew perfectly well that Nightsoul was gone from this earth; he had seen her many times in his dreams, but Pantherpaw still looked for her. He would wander every night if he could, looking for the ghostly sillouhette of his mother wandering through the trees, her amber eyes glittering with the soft light of stars as she bounded through the powdery snow to greet her son.
The river bubbled softly in the distance, rushing back in black currents of cold water with ice fringing the shores. Pantherpaw came up to the river's edge and sat with a crunch in the cold snow, shivering slightly as cold ran along his pelt like paws of ice. He stared down into the river, staring down at his reflection and the stars a gap between the clouds above him that surrounded the reflection of his head like a halo. Pantherpaw's eyes darted to each star that he could see, wondering if one of those heavenly stars of Silverpelt could be his mother. Was she looking down at him now, staring at him from the star-laden skies? What about Pantherpaw's father? Could he be there too?
Pantherpaw let out a sigh. Despite the cold, he lay down and rested his chin on his outstretched paws. He wished that he could have met his father; it seemed unfair that he had died before his birth, and even more unfair that his mother had died when Pantherpaw had still been so young. Life just wasn't fair, Pantherpaw knew that by now, but why did it have to be so unfair to him? He had not done anything wrong...had he?
The small black cat lifted his head and stood up, looking up to the stars in the gap in the clouds above, watching as the clouds began to move over the gap and began covering the stars in a soft blanket of gray.
"Mother...Mother. Where have you gone?" Pantherpaw cried up into the stars above. "I'm so lost and confused...I don't know what to do about anything anymore!" Pantherpaw stared up at the stars, a part of him expecting for and hoping for a reply. But Pantherpaw did not recieve one; just a breath of a gentle breeze that rushed over him as the stars disapeared beneath the clouds above. Pantherpaw sat back down again with a crunch in the snow, staring up where he had seen the stars for the longest time.
