glance. a light gray tabby tom with green-blue eyes.
visual.
silentstar is your typical, average everyday gray tabby. he has no distinction from any other plain cat. his tail is of average length, with a plain black tip and rings flourishing the rest of his tail, getting thinner while it goes more near his body, with a break in the ring at the bottom. his underbelly and all the other sides of his appendages that are out of sight, including the bottom of his tail and the backs of his legs, are a cream-tinted gray. on his back, the stripes get thinner and more cramped together, then reverse at nearly the exact middle of his top-flank, and the spaces between between stripes grows significantly each time, finally grow to just a patch of heavily striped fur in-between his ears, with no other stripes until the tear-like streaks that mostly all tabbies have. as the stripes get more separated, the fur on his face also grows lighter and lighter until it reaches the shade of cream-gray that his underbelly is.
silentstar's eyes are the only thing that even slightly distinguishes him from other gray tabbies. they are a odd shade of blue green, with tints of mint here and there, not flecks though. just slight differences in some of the colors further away from his irises, which are a pitch-like shade of pure black, which never lighten except a nearly undetectable rimming of green-blue-gray shades. His irises are also rather small in contrast to his eyes, which are huge. closer to his irises are tiny flecks of pale blue with a bit of green mixed in halfheartedly, for if you look closely, you can see even smaller flecks of turquoise-blue, pale sky blue, and mint green. his eyes are rimmed with a shadow-like fall around his eyes, making his eyes look rather awkward when they're shining brightly, because the bright is thrown of by the difference of the colors.
silentstar is a medium-sized tom. his legs are rather long, with large paws attached at the ends. his tail is short for a cat his size, but thick. it thickens as in grows closer to his body, the opposite of the stripes on his tail. he has semi-large muscles in his legs, with an imposing chest. for a windclanner, he is a bit big, but in any other clan he is the perfect size, maybe smaller. his short, gray pelt is very sleek, showing off his form and muscles. his ears are quite large, with the advantage of large ears coming with them. his hearing is above average. his tail is barbed at the end, making it sharp looking, almost needle-like. although silentstar looks like a great fighter, though he is only an average warrior when it comes to that. hunting, on the other hand, is one of his strong points. his form makes it easy for him to stalk prey and hunt silently on the moors, giving him the first part of his name.
persona.
silentstar has a generally a good attitude, unless you get him angry. he is loyal through and through, although he can be unfriendly at times. he fights to the death for his clan, and unconditionally sticks to the warrior code. he would gladly lay down all of his whole life to help his clan, and will never cease to fight, though he can get overenthusiastic about his clan sometimes, and can sometimes be slightly tempted to battle when no battle is needed, though his disputes are silent, therefore easily overshadowed and ignored. otherwise, he is a calm, caring, and kindly cat to his clan.
since silentstar can be unsocial at times, he has less friends than expected of a warrior of his status. though he has little friends, they are all very close. silentstar never loses his temper around them, and tries his best not to rebel against common causes and helpful actions. that's another bad thing within the young gray warrior. he rebels too much. only about important matter, though. he could be called a rebel, an idiot, or a nonbeliever, but he likes to simply call himself independent. but to his family, he acts differently. he is more casual around his family, with little cares about what he says around them, because they're all the same as he is. independents.
silentstar is, well, silent. unheard throughout the moors of windclan. he normally keeps to himself and talks below average. he is quite commanding, though, though its gone down since he currently has no apprentice, no quarrels, no gossiping, no speech unless it's important. he loves to hunt alone at twilight. silentstar is very quiet and watchful most of the time, especially when other aren't paying attention. he loves to know thing that others don't. that's the thrill of his young life. answering the unknown. that counts as an 'important thing' to him. he has a shady though commanding presence, with an air of self-confidence radiating from him.
silentstar is absolutely brutal in battle, in terms of effort. he slashes his claws wildly, trying to fight back opponents as hard as he can. his adrenaline pumps when he battles. he is always nervous right before a battle, in fear that he will fail his clan. as for death, he does not fear getting slaughtered on the battlefield or anything else for that matter. then again, he isn't afraid to keep on living after defeat either. silentstar will never cower or back down from a challenge. he is often the first one charging into battle. the battlefield is one of the most common places for him to be overenthusiastic every time he pets into a whir of fighting cats. he is not okay with being left to guard camp though.
past.
stubborn as a kit; greykit was born to two windclan warriors, his mother, flightmoon, and his father, flaremask. except he was originally named greykit. he was called greykit until he was three moons, when he was playing with his sister, pretending shadowclan was invading, he squeaked, 'i am silentstar, leader of windclan!' 'but your name is greykit!' she mewed back 'not anymore.' he replied independently. and from then on he was known as silentkit.
silentkit was an adventurous kit. him and everkit had adventures about the camp, until everkit was feeing spontaneous one day. 'let's go exploring!' she said one day. her and silentkit were only about 5 moons, but they went anyways. they explored windclan territory, going in burrows and scaring prey off, until everkit poked her nose into a burrow, only to see a pair of amber eyes staring back at her. it was a fox. everkit screeched, and silentkit ran, everkit close behind him. silentkit ran back to camp, assuming everkit was behind him. wrong. he looked around camp, calling her name, only to receive no reply. he retraced his steps, shocked to find everkit. dead. 'no!' he yelled, tears welling up in his eyes. he ran back to camp, and sat in the nursery, sobbing and telling no one.
the next morning, silentkit awoke to his mother's wails. 'everkit! my precious kit!' she had yowled throughout the morning. he went out of the nursery, to find everkit's body laying in the center of camp, with gashes in her side and glazed eyes, looking nowhere. the clan was silent. even his usually rambunctious father, flaremask, was mourning without a word. and worst of all, that day was the day that he was to become an apprentice. silentkit took the blow a second time, suffering the loss of his sister as his apprentice ceremony happened. he was happy he was finally an apprentice, but no cat congratulated him, still mourning the death of his sister.
just an apprentice; silentpaw's first day as an apprentice went great. except the fact that his mother died and his father disappeared. flightmoon wanted to die. her only daughter was gone. so, she went o the twolegplace in thunderclan territory, and hurled herself over a fence to a dog, and died. the dog shredded her to pieces, then it brought her dead carcass to its owner, who promptly rejected it, yelling at the dog. she tossed the corpse into the forest, where a thunderclan patrol found it and returned it. silentpaw took it hard, but not nearly as hard as his father, flaremask. he sulked in the warriors den for hours and refused to eat, then, he disappeared without a trace. no scent or anything. some say he now lives life as a loner, but it's uncertain.
silentpaw's mentor was the bouncy snow-white she-cat, frostwing. silentpaw loved his mentor. after his parents were gone, she didn't give him any training and brought him fresh-kill every mealtime. she also gave him only one chore, to bring the elders' supper, and even that was comforting, for he got to listen to their rambling and stories afterwards. she even let him go to the gathering.
the next moon, he began training. he learned almost a moon's worth of training in a week, learning to hunt, fight, track, plus basic techniques for each. he was a productive apprentice, gather all the prey he could and training daily, putting all his effort into his work. frostwing not only taught him to be a warrior, but how to love and how to have fun, even on the job. she helped mold his personality so much, he was like a mini frostwing. he spoke his mind, he acted rebellious, he trained hard, he played frequently. all because of his mentor. she had brought him joy, even after he had lost his entire family to canines.
then, as his joy was at its highest point, it was doused. the day was his last assessment, in leafbare. the time was sunhigh. the cause was an unknown scent. it all happened one day. silentpaw was out hunting. he had made his last kill, a squirrel. she jumped down for the trees to congratulate him. a huge grey animal came. it took her, her fur turning red. it ripped her flesh, tore her muscles. and all silentpaw could do was watch. watch in horror as his mentor was tore to shreds. watch as all his joy vanished. and then the worst part came. it took her body, leaving no trace besides clumps of white fur and splotches of blood. one word came to his mind. wolf. he yowled out, and sobbed, mourning the loss as if she was his mother. then he went back to camp, carrying a clump o fur in his mouth. he went into the leader's den put down the fur, and said two words, 'frostwing. dead.' that was all that was needed. the leader announced it, and the clan threw questions at him. 'where's her body?' one asked. 'a wolf took it.'he answered simply, still mouring the loss of his mentor.
the next day was his warrior ceremony. the only words he said that day were 'i do.' and so he was made a warrior, with the name silentflight.
striving to be a warrior; he said nothing. did regular warrior activities. time flew by. he grew into a senior warrior. no speech. his voice had changed, but no one knew. no one had ever heard him for the longest time. he grew powerful and strong. she-cats adored him. he took no notice. he was oblivious. until moonwhisper. she was his love. she didn't like him, barely even knew he existed. it all started one day, just after a patrol. she had gotten aggressive with some shadowclan warriors. she fought. tooth and claw. no stop. claws slashing. scratches in her flank. silentflight was down, laying in the dust, waiting for the battle to be won. she won the battle. she was a patrol hero. he envied her. he competed with her. that's when she started to notice him. it became a friendly competition. who could catch the most prey in a patrol, who could lead the most patrols in a moon, who could. it was never who can't. all the time spent together, and still no contact made between the two except some competitive glances.
then, contact.
on a gathering, the clearing lit to the full extent by the light of the moon. her eyes shone as full as the moon. silentflight was mystified. the mysteries, secrets, betrayals, and hopes. he sat next to her, only half paying attention to the news that the leaders shared, when moonwhisper's eyes glowed with attentiveness. she looked to him. their gazes locked. 'i guess i win for paying attention at a gathering.' she teased him as he snapped back into reality. 'yea. i guess so.' he said. her beautiful silver eyes widened as he spoke. he looked at her. 'yup. i talk.' he said in an informative tone. 'you rarely do.' she said back, countering him. 'i guess you lose now for not paying attention.' he said playfully. she let out a playful hiss and batted him softly on the flank. 'ooh. you broke the truuce.' he said as if he were a kit trying to get his littermate in trouble. 'shut up.' she replied. she looked toward him, and her eyes shone brighter than the moon. he was officially in love.
silentflight talked. she cats envied moonwhisper. they ignored her. silentflight practically never stopped thinking about her eyes. oh, her eyes. beautiful silver color, like the moon she was named for. he hunted with her. he thought about her too much. a mouse could practically sit in his paws and he wouldn't catch it. moonwhisper won every contest. 'i let you win.' he always said. 'of course.' she always replied sarcastically. she charmed him. she brought him back.
he would tell her that he loved her. today. he would ask her to go hunting. she'd say yes, like she always did. the first steps went as planned. 'moonwhisper?' he said shyly. 'what do you want?' she asked playfully. 'um... i lo- fox!' he yowled. moonwhisper was confused. 'what?' she said. 'get down!' but his command was a little too late. the fox came out, teeth bared, ready to take on the cats. moonwhisper was shocked. she didn't move. the fox leaped. she yowled, scrambling away as fast as she could. tough luck. her leg was caught on a bramble. she tried to tear the vine from her leg, but it was no use. the fox leaped again, jaws ready to tear at the flesh. then, claws, blood, yowls. too much. no one could see what was happening from the mass of writhing beasts. silentflight pounced on he fox's back and pounded at it with his bare paws. the fox snarled, threw silentflight off, ran pelted off. he hit the ground with a thump, but got straight back up. 'i guess we're even. you save me from shadowclan, i save you from fox.' he said. 'i could have saved myself you know.' moonwhsper said mockingly. 'so could you shut up and get me untangled?' she asked with mock sincerity, her eyes glowing. he grinned and said, 'of course.'
no words were needed. she knew that he loved her. but just to be certain, he dragged her out of camp again, still teasing her about the previous day. she just mumbled 'shut up.' as an answer and cuffed him on the ear playfully.'moonwhiper, i love you.' he said. 'i know.' she breathed. 'i love you too.' [insert chorus of 'awws' here =)]
his heart sailed. they would be together forever. when he came back to camp, a meeting was called. 'all cats old enough to catch their own prey join beneath the [insert x3] for a clan meeting.' once every cat in the clan had gathered he started the announcements. 'we have two kits that are ready to become apprentices. snowkit, dustkit, step forward.' two young kit trotted, almost ran, to the [insert x3]. 'silentflight, you are ready for an apprentice. you will be mentor to dustkit. you are courageous and loyal; pass these traits on to dustpaw. moonwhisper, you are in need of an apprentice. you will be mentor to snowkit. you are witty and strong; pass these traits on to snowpaw.' oh. great. starclan. him and moonwhisper were mentors to brother and sister. the leader interrupted his thoughts. 'we have one more ceremony to perform. thistlefur, are you sure you want to step down from your position and join the elders?' 'i am.' the old deputy replied.' 'then i call upon starclan to grant you many seasons of rest.' okay, now silentflight was shocked. it was nearly moonrise, so flaredstar had to choose a new deputy soon. 'and one last ceremony. i say these words before the spirits of starclan, so that they may hear and approve my choice. silentflight will be the new deputy.'
better respect the deputy; cats crowded around him. moonwhisper pelted him with licks. 'silentflight! silentflight!' they called out.
